In this documentary “Where To Invade Next”, Michael Moore goes to multiple different countries to “conquer” them and adapt their improved better solutions to our most obvious and prominent problems in the culture and government of the United States of America. In initial opening of the movie he commentates sarcastically over footage of him visiting the White House and apparently getting permission from the president to invade the other countries for their improved goverments and policies. The first country he chose to “invade” was the country of Italy. He then goes to a factory and discusses with the people their rights as employees to this company and how they have light years better vacation time compared to almost any American job. And also how much parental leave for when a worker becomes pregnant with a child. The second country he goes to is the country of France, where he then visits an elementary school in a small village there. He then discusses with the cafeteria staff and the students about their very impressive and exquisite lunch menu. He also talks to them about how much better their sex education is compared to ours. And also shows to the peoples shock most schools in America don't bother to teach sex education because they practice abstinence. The third country he goes to is the country of Finland, where he goes a high school and discusses with us the audience and the staff and students of the school on how they have managed to be so successful in being one of the smartest countries in the world. And they explain that it comes down to surprisingly going to school less and having little to no homework. While in Finland he also manages to get a conversation in with Krista Kiuru the Minister of Education of Finland. The next country he goes to is the country of Slovenia, where he visits a university there and discusses with the students on how they managed to achieve a cost free school. They explain that they achieved this great feat by simply peacefully protesting against the government for this right and privilege. The next country he visits is the country of Germany where he visits a pencil factory. At this pencil he discusses with the employees of the factory about their rights as labor workers and how they balance life and work so well. And they explain that the company they work for or their boss is by law not allowed to contact them about work on the weekends and on vacation. The next country he goes to is the country of Portugal where he goes to the town of Lisbon and talks to the people of the town and some of the policeman about their May Day holiday for the workers specifically and the little policies that they have on drugs and also how they fazed out the death penalty in their country. The next county he goes to is the country of Norway where he visits the insane prison known as Bastoy Prison. And he discusses with us and the prisoners about how much more humane their prison and prisons are compared to ours. He then, ventures to the country of Tunisia where he visits some female activists and discusses with them their rights as women and how they achieved this in the new Tunisian Constitution that was implemented in 2014. The next country he goes to is the cold but beautiful country of Iceland where he visits Vigdís Finnbogadóttir the first female president of Iceland and the first female president ever. He talks to her and other officials about their financial crisis that ran from 2008 to 2011 and how they got through it. The final country that he visits is the country of Germany again where he explains that many or almost all the ideas that he has learned about and adopted from other countries were originally thought up in the United States. In the last scene of the movie he displays a scene in “The Wizard of Oz” and he elaborates that the solution to America passing all the ideas is that they face the topics head on just like how Dorothy did.
